It
is a pleasure to introduce you to a very special ministry of Hilltop Baptist Church. Truly, God has richly blessed our school
since its beginning in 1978. We
cannot measure our success simply by enrollment; it is more accurately
measured in the lives of the many young people who have found direction under
this ministry. Our
belief is that each child is a unique creation of God endowed with individual
gifts and abilities that, when recognized and developed, will enable that
child to succeed in the way his Creator intended. |

“Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 |
Hilltop Baptist School believes
that the Biblical mandate regarding the education of children is addressed to
the parents. A part of that mandate
states that children are to be brought up in the “nurture and admonition of
the Lord” (Eph. 6:4). In Biblical times the Christian
parent fulfilled this responsibility by teaching children at home. Today, parents choose to delegate to
another institution the authority to assist them. Secular schools today are,
unfortunately, saturated with the godless philosophy of Humanism. Therefore, we believe that we must offer
an educational alternative that achieves academic excellence, while morally
preparing young people to be a Godly influence in our society. In essence, we are an extension of the
home operating in partnership with the parents. |
|
Our highly committed, qualified
and caring staff teach at Hilltop because they have a genuine desire to
positively impact young lives. They
have surrendered their lives to a ministry of preparing young people to live
successful Godly lives. This task is accomplished not
only through academics but also by developing relationships of mutual trust
and respect with their students. |

While not expecting uniform
dress, our dress code does reflect our desire to teach our young people the
principle of appropriateness.
Students are required to dress modestly and neatly at all times. Students are held to a standard of respect toward their peers as well as toward those in authority. We recognize that each person is a unique creation of God and deserves kindness and respect from others. There is no tolerance for bullying, unkindness or disrespect. Academic standards are high,
because it is our responsibility to expect the best that each student can
give. National achievement tests are
given annually, and our classes continually score higher than national
averages. Juniors and seniors are
encouraged to take college entrance exams and, again, our students typically
score higher than national averages. Seniors who qualify may take
college concurrent credit courses at the University
of Colorado at Colorado Springs or at Pikes
Peak Community College. |

It is our goal to use the best
full-school Christian curriculums to best prepare our children for their
futures. Kindergarten, elementary,
and secondary divisions use Bob Jones University Press. Talent Development uses a variety of
individualized educational materials, with Switched-On Schoolhouse as the
primary core curriculum. All of these
curriculums are non-denominational in content, providing a subtle, yet
constant, reminder to the student that the same God who created the universe
has an equally special and unique plan for every life. God’s Word plays an important
role throughout our program from kindergarten through high school. We believe there is no other book more
important to the total educational process, and we use the King James Version
Bible as a reference tool in every classroom. Click here

Too often Christian education is a limited ministry - limited to those who are capable of conforming to pre-determined academic standards, without regard to students who either surpass those standards or are unable to meet them. A desire to meet the needs of these students gave rise in 1984 to the establishment of Talent Development, a ministry to the student who, for one reason or another, does not perform well in a traditional classroom environment. They are usually identified as frustrated, discouraged, and possibly failing in one or more subjects. Yet, many times, testing reveals them to be extremely bright, capable of working beyond their grade level! How do we reach them? How can we prevent despair and mental resignation? Talent Development has been designed with such a student in mind. Click here to find out more about our Talent Development Department. |
